Unity Linux 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-987578)

high Nessus Plugin ID 270998

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-987578 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

comedi: vmk80xx: fix bulk-buffer overflow

The driver is using endpoint-sized buffers but must not assume that the tx and rx buffers are of equal size or a malicious device could overflow the slab-allocated receive buffer when doing bulk transfers.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
