Unity Linux 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-987644)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 270956

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-987644 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

can: isotp: isotp_sendmsg(): add result check for wait_event_interruptible()

Using wait_event_interruptible() to wait for complete transmission, but do not check the result of wait_event_interruptible() which can be interrupted. It will result in TX buffer has multiple accessors and the later process interferes with the previous process.

Following is one of the problems reported by syzbot.

Add result check for wait_event_interruptible() in isotp_sendmsg() to avoid multiple accessers for tx buffer.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
