Synopsis

The version of Veeam Backup and Replication installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Veeam Backup and Replication installed on the remote Windows host is 12.x prior to 12.3.2.4165. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - A vulnerability in the Mount service of Veeam Backup & Replication, which allows for remote code execution (RCE) on the Backup infrastructure hosts by an authenticated domain user. (CVE-2025-48983)

 - A vulnerability allowing remote code execution (RCE) on the Backup Server by an authenticated domain user.
 (CVE-2025-48984)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Veeam Backup and Replication version 12.3.2.4165 or later.
