medium Nessus Plugin ID 268230

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-986131 advisory.

jq is a command-line JSON processor. In versions up to and including 1.7.1, an integer overflow arises when assigning value using an index of 2147483647, the signed integer limit. This causes a denial of service. Commit de21386681c0df0104a99d9d09db23a9b2a78b1e contains a patch for the issue.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected jq package.
