The version of Adobe Reader installed on the remote macOS host is a version prior to 20.005.30791 or 25.001.20693. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities.- Acrobat Reader versions 24.001.30254, 20.005.30774, 25.001.20672 and earlier are affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.
Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file, and scope is unchanged. (CVE-2025-54257)
- Acrobat Reader versions 24.001.30254, 20.005.30774, 25.001.20672 and earlier are affected by a Violation of Secure Design Principles vulnerability that could result in a security feature bypass. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction, and scope is unchanged. (CVE-2025-54255)
Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Upgrade to Adobe Reader version 20.005.30791 / 25.001.20693 or later.See Also
