Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 24.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-7724-1 advisory.

 Several security issues were discovered in the Linux kernel. An attacker could possibly use these to compromise the system. This update corrects flaws in the following subsystems:

 - Thunderbolt and USB4 drivers;

 - Network traffic control; (CVE-2025-38350, CVE-2025-38174)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
