Synopsis

Description

The version of Microsoft Edge installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 138.0.3351.144. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the August 21, 2025 advisory.

- Out of bounds write in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 139.0.7258.138 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2025-9132)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge version 138.0.3351.144 or later.
