Synopsis

A web application deployment tool on the remote Windows host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of Microsoft Web Deploy installed on the remote host is prior to 10.0.2001 It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability:

 - Deserialization of untrusted data in Web Deploy allows an authorized attacker to execute code over a network.
 (CVE-2025-53772) Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Microsoft Web Deploy version 10.0.2001 or later.
