CBL Mariner 2.0 Security Update: mysql (CVE-2025-5025)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 244793

Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of mysql installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2025-5025 advisory.

- libcurl supports *pinning* of the server certificate public key for HTTPS transfers. Due to an omission, this check is not performed when connecting with QUIC for HTTP/3, when the TLS backend is wolfSSL.
Documentation says the option works with wolfSSL, failing to specify that it does not for QUIC and HTTP/3.
Since pinning makes the transfer succeed if the pin is fine, users could unwittingly connect to an impostor server without noticing. (CVE-2025-5025)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
