Oracle HTTP Server (July 2025 CPU)

high Nessus Plugin ID 242271

Synopsis

The remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The versions of HTTP Server installed on the remote host are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the July 2025 CPU advisory.

- In libxml2 before 2.13.8 and 2.14.x before 2.14.2, xmlSchemaIDCFillNodeTables in xmlschemas.c has a heap- based buffer under-read. To exploit this, a crafted XML document must be validated against an XML schema with certain identity constraints, or a crafted XML schema must be used. (CVE-2025-32415)

- Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with logon to the infrastructure where Oracle HTTP Server executes to compromise Oracle HTTP Server. While the vulnerability is in Oracle HTTP Server, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle HTTP Server accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle HTTP Server accessible data. (CVE-2024-56171)

- Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via TLS to compromise Oracle HTTP Server. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle HTTP Server accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle HTTP Server accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle HTTP Server. (CVE-2025-0725)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the July 2025 Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory.
