Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the libtheora packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 oc_huff_tree_unpack in huffdec.c in libtheora in Theora through 1.0 7180717 has an invalid negative left shift. NOTE: this is disputed by third parties because there is no evidence of a security impact, e.g., an application would not crash.(CVE-2024-56431)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS libtheora security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libtheora packages.
