ZKTeco BioTime < 9.0.1 (20240617.19506) Multiple Vulnerebilities

critical Nessus Plugin ID 241709

Synopsis

An application running on the remote web server is affected by multiple vulnerebilities.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the instance of ZKTeco BioTime running on the remote web server is prior to 9.0.1 (20240617.19506). It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

- A path traversal vulnerability in the iclock API allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via supplying a crafted payload. (CVE-2023-38950)

- An authenticated attacker can create or overwrite arbitrary files on the server via crafted requests to /base/sftpsetting/ endpoints that abuse a path traversal issue in the Username field and a lack of input sanitization on the SSH Key field. Overwriting specific files may lead to arbitrary code execution as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. (CVE-2023-38951)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade ZKTeco BioTime version 9.0.1 (20240617.19506) or later.
