Description

The version of HP Support Assistant installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 9.46.17.0. It is, therefore, affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability:

 - A potential security vulnerability has been identified in the HP Support Assistant, which allows a local attacker to escalate privileges via an arbitrary file deletion. (CVE-2025-43019)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to HP Support Assistant version 9.46.17.0 or later.
