Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 14.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-7590-1 advisory.

 It was discovered that several deserialization issues existed within Apache Log4j. An attacker could possibly use these issues to enable the execution of arbitrary code. (CVE-2022-23302, CVE-2022-23305, CVE-2022-23307)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected liblog4j1.2-java package.
