Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 3 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 3 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TSSA-2024:0114 advisory.

 Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 3 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

 CVE-2024-28834:
 A flaw was found in GnuTLS. The Minerva attack is a cryptographic vulnerability that exploits deterministic behavior in systems like GnuTLS, leading to side-channel leaks. In specific scenarios, such as when using the GNUTLS_PRIVKEY_FLAG_REPRODUCIBLE flag, it can result in a noticeable step in nonce size from 513 to 512 bits, exposing a potential timing side-channel.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
