TencentOS Server 3: mailman:2.1 (TSSA-2022:0093)

high Nessus Plugin ID 239431

Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 3 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 3 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TSSA-2022:0093 advisory.

Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 3 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

CVE-2020-12108:
/options/mailman in GNU Mailman before 2.1.31 allows Arbitrary Content Injection.

CVE-2020-12137:
GNU Mailman 2.x before 2.1.30 uses the .obj extension for scrubbed application/octet-stream MIME parts.
This behavior may contribute to XSS attacks against list-archive visitors, because an HTTP reply from an archive web server may lack a MIME type, and a web browser may perform MIME sniffing, conclude that the MIME type should have been text/html, and execute JavaScript code.

CVE-2020-15011:
GNU Mailman before 2.1.33 allows arbitrary content injection via the Cgi/private.py private archive login page.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Tencent Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
