TencentOS Server 2: python-reportlab (TSSA-2023:0237)

high Nessus Plugin ID 239306

Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 2 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 2 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TSSA-2023:0237 advisory.

Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 2 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

CVE-2019-19450:
paraparser in ReportLab before 3.5.31 allows remote code execution because start_unichar in paraparser.py evaluates untrusted user input in a unichar element in a crafted XML document with '<unichar code=' followed by arbitrary Python code, a similar issue to CVE-2019-17626.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Tencent Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
