Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 4 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 4 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TSSA-2024:0608 advisory.

 Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 4 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

 CVE-2024-8418:
 A flaw was found in Aardvark-dns versions 1.12.0 and 1.12.1. They contain a denial of service vulnerability due to serial processing of TCP DNS queries. This flaw allows a malicious client to keep a TCP connection open indefinitely, causing other DNS queries to time out and resulting in a denial of service for all other containers using aardvark-dns.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
