TencentOS Server 3: qt5-qtbase (TSSA-2024:0207)

high Nessus Plugin ID 239125

Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 3 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 3 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TSSA-2024:0207 advisory.

Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 3 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

CVE-2023-51714:
An integer overflow vulnerability was found in Qt. An incorrect HPack integer overflow check can lead to denial of service.

CVE-2024-25580:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Qt Base, wherein an attacker can exploit a specially crafted KTX image file to induce a buffer overflow within the application parsing it. This overflow can subsequently result in a denial-of-service condition, rendering the affected application inaccessible or non- responsive.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Tencent Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
