Synopsis
The remote TencentOS Server 3 host is missing one or more security updates.
Description
The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 3 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TSSA-2024:0119 advisory.
Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 3 that fix the following vulnerabilities:
CVE-2023-5388:
It was discovered that the numerical library used in NSS for RSA cryptography leaks information whether high order bits of the RSA decryption result are zero. This information can be used to mount a Bleichenbacher or Manger like attack against all RSA decryption operations. As the leak happens before any padding operations, it affects all padding modes: PKCS#1 v1.5, OAEP, and RSASVP. Both API level calls and TLS server operation are affected.
CVE-2024-0743:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
An unchecked return value in TLS handshake code could have caused a potentially exploitable crash.
CVE-2024-2607:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
Return registers were overwritten which could have allowed an attacker to execute arbitrary code.
*Note:* This issue only affected Armv7-A systems. Other operating systems are unaffected.
CVE-2024-2608:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
`AppendEncodedAttributeValue(), ExtraSpaceNeededForAttrEncoding()` and `AppendEncodedCharacters()` could have experienced integer overflows, causing underallocation of an output buffer leading to an out of bounds write.
CVE-2024-2610:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
Using a markup injection an attacker could have stolen nonce values. This could have been used to bypass strict content security policies.
CVE-2024-2611:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
A missing delay on when pointer lock was used could have allowed a malicious page to trick a user into granting permissions.
CVE-2024-2612:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
If an attacker could find a way to trigger a particular code path in `SafeRefPtr`, it could have triggered a crash or potentially be leveraged to achieve code execution.
CVE-2024-2614:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
Memory safety bugs present in Firefox 123, Firefox ESR 115.8, and Thunderbird 115.8. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code.
CVE-2024-2616:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
To harden ICU against exploitation, the behavior for out-of-memory conditions was changed to crash instead of attempt to continue.
CVE-2024-29944:
The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as:
An attacker was able to inject an event handler into a privileged object that would allow arbitrary JavaScript execution in the parent process.
Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Tencent Linux security advisory.
Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Update the affected packages.
