Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 2 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 2 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TSSA-2022:0288 advisory.

 Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 2 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

 CVE-2022-28733:
 A flaw was found in grub2 when handling IPv4 packets. This flaw allows an attacker to craft a malicious packet, triggering an integer underflow in grub code. Consequently, the memory allocation for handling the packet data may be smaller than the size needed. This issue causes an out-of-bands write during packet handling, compromising data integrity, confidentiality issues, a denial of service, and remote code execution.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
