Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 4 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 4 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TSSA-2024:0805 advisory.

 Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 4 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

 CVE-2023-45853:
 MiniZip in zlib through 1.3 has an integer overflow and resultant heap-based buffer overflow in zipOpenNewFileInZip4_64 via a long filename, comment, or extra field. NOTE: MiniZip is not a supported part of the zlib product. NOTE: pyminizip through 0.2.6 is also vulnerable because it bundles an affected zlib version, and exposes the applicable MiniZip code through its compress API.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
