TencentOS Server 3: autotrace (TSSA-2023:0149)

high Nessus Plugin ID 238626

Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 3 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 3 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TSSA-2023:0149 advisory.

Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 3 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

CVE-2022-32323:
A buffer overflow flaw was found in the autotrace package. This flaw allows an attacker to trick the user into opening a maliciously crafted BMP image, triggering arbitrary code execution or causing the application to crash.

CVE-2019-19004:
A biWidth*biBitCnt integer overflow in input-bmp.c in autotrace 0.31.1 allows attackers to provide an unexpected input value to malloc via a malformed bitmap image.
CVE-2019-19005:
A bitmap double free in main.c in autotrace 0.31.1 allows attackers to cause an unspecified impact via a malformed bitmap image. This may occur after the use-after-free in CVE-2017-9182.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Tencent Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
