Autodesk Maya < 2025.3.1 / MayaUSD < 0.32.0 Arbitrary Memory Allocation (ADSK-SA-2025-0011)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 238434

Synopsis

The instance of Autodesk Maya installed on the remote host is affected by an arbitrary memory allocation vulnerability.

Description

The version of Autodesk Maya installed on the remote host is prior to 2025.3.1, or one of its installed plugins, MayaUSD, is prior to 0.32.0. It is, therefore, affected by an arbitrary memory allocation vulnerability. A maliciously crafted .usdc file, when loaded through Autodesk Maya, can force an uncontrolled memory allocation vulnerability. A malicious actor may leverage this vulnerability to cause a denial-of-service (DoS), or cause data corruption.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Autodesk Maya version 2025.3.1 or later. Upgrade the MayaUSD plugin to 0.32.0.
