Description

The version of GitLab installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability, as follows:

 - An issue has been discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 17.9 before 17.10.8, 17.11 before 17.11.4, and 18.0 before 18.0.2. Improper output encoding in the snipper viewer functionality lead to Cross-Site scripting attacks. (CVE-2025-2254)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 17.10.8, 17.11.4, 18.0.2 or later.
