Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of Adobe Lightroom installed on the remote host is prior to 8.3. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB25-29 advisory: Lightroom Desktop versions 8.2 and earlier are affected by an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Adobe Lightroom based upon the guidance specified in APSB25-29.
