IBM Java is affected a vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM Java installed on the remote host is 7.1 prior to 7.1.5.26 / 8.0 prior to 8.0.8.45. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the IBM Security Update May 2025 advisory.

- In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.51, when used with OpenJDK version 8 a stack based buffer overflow can be caused by modifying a file on disk that is read when the JVM starts. (CVE-2025-4447)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the IBM Security Update May 2025 advisory.
