medium Nessus Plugin ID 22411
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote SMTP server is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

The remote host is running MailEnable, a commercial mail server for Windows.

The SMTP server bundled with the version of MailEnable installed on the remote host is affected by a flaw in which SPF lookups for domains with large records may result in a NULL pointer exception in the SMTP service. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this issue to crash the affected service.

Apply Hotfix ME-10014.
