Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2024:2979 advisory.

 - An issue was discovered in freedesktop poppler version 20.12.1, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (DoS) via crafted .pdf file to FoFiType1C::convertToType1 function. (CVE-2020-36024)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
