Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dsa-5687 advisory.

 - Use after free in Visuals in Google Chrome prior to 124.0.6367.201 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted HTML page.
 (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2024-4671)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the chromium packages.
