GLSA-202405-21 : Commons-BeanUtils: Improper Access Restriction

high Nessus Plugin ID 195136

Description

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-202405-21 (Commons-BeanUtils: Improper Access Restriction)

- In Apache Commons Beanutils 1.9.2, a special BeanIntrospector class was added which allows suppressing the ability for an attacker to access the classloader via the class property available on all Java objects.
We, however were not using this by default characteristic of the PropertyUtilsBean. (CVE-2019-10086)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

All Commons-BeanUtils users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge --sync # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose >=dev-java/commons-beanutils-1.9.4
