Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2024-2483 advisory.

 - In buc Traceroute 2.0.12 through 2.1.2 before 2.1.3, the wrapper scripts do not properly parse command lines. (CVE-2023-46316)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected traceroute package.
