Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 40 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2024-000a25f3fc advisory.

- aiohttp is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. A XSS vulnerability exists on index pages for static file handling. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.9.4. We have always recommended using a reverse proxy server (e.g. nginx) for serving static files. Users following the recommendation are unaffected. Other users can disable `show_index` if unable to upgrade. (CVE-2024-27306)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python-aiohttp and / or python-openapi-core packages.
