Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for LibRaw.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:2137 advisory.

 - A flaw was found in LibRaw. A heap-buffer-overflow in raw2image_ex() caused by a maliciously crafted file may lead to an application crash. (CVE-2023-1729)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL LibRaw package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:2137.
