Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for qemu-kvm-rhev.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2017:3466 advisory.

- Qemu: qemu-nbd crashes due to undefined I/O coroutine (CVE-2017-7539)

- Qemu: qemu-nbd: server breaks with SIGPIPE upon client abort (CVE-2017-10664)

- Qemu: exec: oob access during dma operation (CVE-2017-11334)

- Qemu: i386: multiboot OOB access while loading kernel image (CVE-2017-14167)

- Qemu: cirrus: OOB access issue in mode4and5 write functions (CVE-2017-15289)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL qemu-kvm-rhev package based on the guidance in RHSA-2017:3466.
