Synopsis

Adobe Photoshop installed on remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Photoshop installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 24.7.3/25.4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the apsb24-16 advisory.

- Photoshop Desktop versions 24.7.2, 25.3.1 and earlier are affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2024-20770)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Photoshop version 24.7.3/25.4 or later.
