Synopsis

The remote Red Hat CoreOS host is missing a security update for OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.18.

Description

The remote Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS 4 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:1461 advisory.

 - golang-protobuf: encoding/protojson, internal/encoding/json: infinite loop in protojson.Unmarshal when unmarshaling certain forms of invalid JSON (CVE-2024-24786)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHCOS OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.18 packages based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:1461.
