Synopsis
The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.18.Description
The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 / 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:1461 advisory.- The protojson.Unmarshal function can enter an infinite loop when unmarshaling certain forms of invalid JSON. This condition can occur when unmarshaling into a message which contains a google.protobuf.Any value, or when the UnmarshalOptions.DiscardUnknown option is set. (CVE-2024-24786)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Update the RHEL OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.18 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:1461.See Also
