Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6687-1 advisory.

- An issue exists AccountService 0.6.37 in the user_change_password_authorized_cb() function in user.c which could let a local users obtain encrypted passwords. (CVE-2012-6655)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
