The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for openvswitch2.17.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2024:1234 advisory.

- openvswsitch: ovs-vswitch fails to recover after malformed geneve metadata packet (CVE-2023-3966)

- openvswitch: openvswitch don't match packets on nd_target field (CVE-2023-5366)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL openvswitch2.17 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:1234.
