Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for iperf3.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the iperf3-3.9-11.el9 build changelog.

- iperf3 before 3.14 allows peers to cause an integer overflow and heap corruption via a crafted length field. (CVE-2023-38403)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream iperf3 package.
