Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for ansible-core.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ansible- core-2.14.2-4.el9 build changelog.

- A flaw was found in Ansible Engine's ansible-connection module, where sensitive information such as the Ansible user credentials is disclosed by default in the traceback error message. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality. (CVE-2021-3620)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream ansible-core package.
