The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2023:0103 advisory.

- In libexpat through 2.4.9, there is a use-after free caused by overeager destruction of a shared DTD in XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate in out-of-memory situations. (CVE-2022-43680)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected expat and / or expat-devel packages.
