Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of hyperv-daemons installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2023-51780 advisory.

 - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 6.6.8. do_vcc_ioctl in net/atm/ioctl.c has a use-after- free because of a vcc_recvmsg race condition. (CVE-2023-51780)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
