The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for .NET 7.0.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2024:0157 advisory.

- crypto-js: PBKDF2 1,000 times weaker than specified in 1993 and 1.3M times weaker than current standard (CVE-2023-46233)

- dotnet: Information Disclosure: MD.SqlClient(MDS) & System.data.SQLClient (SDS) (CVE-2024-0056)

- dotnet: X509 Certificates - Validation Bypass across Azure (CVE-2024-0057)

- dotnet: .NET Denial of Service Vulnerability (CVE-2024-21319)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL .NET 7.0 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:0157.
