Synopsis
The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.Description
The version of python installed on the remote host is prior to 2.7.18-1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2024-2400 advisory.- An issue was discovered in compare_digest in Lib/hmac.py in Python through 3.9.1. Constant-time-defeating optimisations were possible in the accumulator variable in hmac.compare_digest. (CVE-2022-48566)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
