Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of QNAP QTS / QuTS hero installed on the remote host is affected by 2 buffer overflow vulnerabilities as referenced in the QSA-23-07 advisory. A buffer copy without checking size of input vulnerability has been reported to affect several QNAP operating system versions. If exploited, the vulnerability could allow authenticated administrators to execute code via a network.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
