Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of gmp installed on the remote host is prior to 6.0.0-15. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2369 advisory.

- GNU Multiple Precision Arithmetic Library (GMP) through 6.2.1 has an mpz/inp_raw.c integer overflow and resultant buffer overflow via crafted input, leading to a segmentation fault on 32-bit platforms.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
