Debian DLA-3680-1 : opendkim - LTS security update

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.


The remote Debian 10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3680 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in OpenDKIM through 2.10.3, and 2.11.x through 2.11.0-Beta2. It fails to keep track of ordinal numbers when removing fake Authentication-Results header fields, which allows a remote attacker to craft an e-mail message with a fake sender address such that programs that rely on Authentication-Results from OpenDKIM will treat the message as having a valid DKIM signature when in fact it has none. (CVE-2022-48521)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.


Upgrade the opendkim packages.

For Debian 10 buster, this problem has been fixed in version 2.11.0~alpha-12+deb10u1.
