critical Nessus Plugin ID 186458

Language:

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 39 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FEDORA-2023-1bbfc445a2 advisory.

- All versions of the qBittorrent client through 4.5.5 use default credentials when the web user interface is enabled. The administrator is not forced to change the default credentials. As of 4.5.5, this issue has not been fixed. A remote attacker can use the default credentials to authenticate and execute arbitrary operating system commands using the external program feature in the web user interface. This was reportedly exploited in the wild in March 2023. (CVE-2023-30801)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected 1:qbittorrent package.
